The nature surrounding Alpina transforms in summer into a playground for adventurers and explorers of all ages. A dense network of hiking trails, cycling routes and scenic walks spans the entire region – and that’s just the beginning.
With 1,001 excursion destinations and sporting activities to discover, there’s always something new to surprise even us. Active and adventure-loving families are very well catered for. Alongside our weekly activity programme for the whole family – including group picnic hikes, farm visits and leisurely e-bike tours – there is no shortage of thrills and excitement for all ages. The Geisterberg adventure playground at 1,800 m, a large playground right in front of the hotel, and white-water rafting on the Salzach river promise fun and adventure from the little ones to the grown-ups.

Ghost Mountain
Geisterberg in Alpendorf
A family adventure park on the Gernkogel (1,767 m above sea level). Set against a magnificent panoramic backdrop, the friendly characters Spuki and Gspensti guide little ones through a variety of enchanting ghost worlds, while grown-ups soak up a truly special hiking and nature experience.

The Ghost Mountain is easily reached via the Alpendorf Gondola, located right next to the Alpina, and from the mountain station by the Ghost Train. With the Sôha Summer Card, you receive 1 ticket per person per stay (from 2 nights) for a return cable car journey, as well as many other local attractions in the area.
Family-Friendly Hiking Experience
Hiking & Climbing for the Whole Family
A hiking holiday at Alpina Alpendorf combines nature, family time, and unforgettable mountain adventures. Our hiking shuttle “Herbie” takes you comfortably to the starting points of our favorite hikes three times a week – and brings you back to the hotel after an exciting day in the mountains. Together with our guided tours, you’ll discover the most beautiful spots in the Salzburg Alps.
A special family highlight is the “Climbing Tuesday” at Geisterberg: every Tuesday from June to October, families can join a guided via ferrata adventure with one of our mountain guides (advance registration required).

Adventure Playground
Right in front of the hotel, our youngest guests are welcomed by a vast children’s adventure playground that leaves nothing to be desired – the perfect place for kids to let off steam and run wild.
From the giant slide and enormous jumping pad to the fun court and large trampoline – it’s no wonder the Alpendorf playground is one of the most popular in the Salzburger Land. And the best part? It’s right on your doorstep, and from our sun terrace you have the perfect vantage point to watch the little ones play to their hearts’ content.

To ensure teenagers enjoy their holiday to the fullest, we offer a diverse range of activities and entertainment designed especially for teens. Numerous exciting attractions, outdoor adventures, and excursion destinations around the hotel provide plenty of opportunities for young explorers.
During school holiday periods, our teen program offers fun, variety, and new experiences—from tennis and soccer to exciting dart tournaments and other group activities. Alpinas leisure facilities offer plenty of space for sports, entertainment, and socializing, creating the perfect environment for teens to have fun and connect with others.
