Insider Tips
Beautiful, wild, long and cavernous – that is the Liechtenstein Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the Alps. The powerful roar of the waterfall, the rich green moss-covered stone, an atmosphere shrouded in legend, and sunbeams that create a rainbow in the fine mist. This unique natural spectacle can be reached on foot (approx. 25 min walking time) or comfortably by car (approx. 5 min drive).

The Ferleiten Game Park is on the Großglockner Road and provides for more than 200 animals on approx. 15 hectares. In the middle of the site is a large pond with plenty of seating and resting facilities as well as an observation tower. In addition to the wildlife park, the Ferleiten amusement park offers free admission to a large adventure area for children (approx. 47 km from the hotel).

This most famous of Alpine roads will take you through the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park to Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner (3,798 m) and its glacier, the Pasterze. Stop in at visitor centres such as the Alpine Museum Nature Show, the Glockner Cinema and many others as you make your way to the Pasterze Glacier and the High Gate at 2,575m above sea level. The toll station is approx. 48km from the hotel.
Discover Salzburg’s roots in the oldest show mine in the world, followed by a visit to the Celtic village. Children (4 years and older) will be thrilled by the “slide tour” on the salt slides! For young and old adventurers there are special tours and adventure tours in the salt mine in Hallein all year round (approx. 45 km from the hotel).

A stroll through Salzburg’s old town will take you to such treasures as the Residenz, the Glockenspiel, the Cathedral, the Franciscan Church, the Mozartplatz, the Pferdeschwemme Fountain, the Hofstall Alley, the Hohensalzburg Fortress and St. Peter’s Monastery. In this charming world cultural heritage city, the ghost of times past can be felt in every corner (approx. 55 km from the hotel).
The Mini Raft is a new addition to the world of rafting boats. Dive into the waves with this small, agile, four-seater raft. The smaller the boat, the stronger the effect of the Salzach River, making for an even more intense ride. The Krimml Waterfalls are the fifth highest waterfalls in the world with their impressive drop height of 380 m. A hiking trail created by the Austrian Alpine Association leads directly to this breathtaking natural spectacle and provides information and unique insights along the way. They are located on the edge of the village of Krimml, in the Hohe Tauern National Park, about 90 minutes by car.
A great attraction for young and old. Encompassing over 35 exhibitions, the Haus der Natur Natural History Museum will bring you closer to some of the most fascinating and noteworthy connections in nature. Located in Salzburg’s old town, the building is under preservation order and belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Historical Centre of the City of Salzburg.
